Answer

Frederick II was the last of the Hohenstaufen dynasty, which ruled the Kingdom of Sicily from 1194 to 1266. He died in 1250 without any surviving legitimate children, and his kingdom was divided up among his three illegitimate sons. The Hohenstaufen dynasty did not survive Frederick II, and his descendants were eventually wiped out by the Angevin dynasty.
