Henry II, Holy Roman Emperor, was born on 6 May 973. He was the son of Emperor Otto II and his wife, Theophanu. Henry II was crowned King of the Germans in 1002 and Holy Roman Emperor in 1014. He was a strong ruler who expanded the Holy Roman Empire and promoted Christianity. Henry II died on 13 July 1024.
