Lij Iyasu's baptismal name was Kifle Yaqob. He was a member of the Solomonic dynasty and the 13th emperor of Ethiopia from 1913 to 1916. His father was Menelik II, and his mother was Taitu Betul. Iyasu was born in 1897 in Harar. He was educated in Ethiopia and Europe. In 1913, he succeeded his father as emperor. However, his reign was short-lived.
