Aḥmad ibn Faḍlān ibn al-ʿAbbās ibn Rāshid ibn Ḥammād was an Arab traveler and writer who lived in the 10th century. He is best known for his account of his journey to the Volga Bulgars in 921-922, which he recorded in his book, the Risāla. Ibn Fadlan's account provides valuable insights into the culture and customs of the Volga Bulgars, as well as the geography and history of the region.
