Kakuei Tanaka was born on 4 May 1918 in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. He was a Japanese politician who served as the 61st Prime Minister of Japan from 1972 to 1974. Tanaka was the first Japanese prime minister to have been born after the Meiji Restoration of 1868. He is also known for his role in the Lockheed bribery scandal.
