Anne Stuart was the sister of Mary II, the Queen of England, Scotland and Ireland from 1689 to 1694. Anne was born in 1665 and was the younger daughter of James II and his first wife, Anne Hyde. Anne was raised as a Protestant and was a strong supporter of the Glorious Revolution of 1688, which deposed her father and brought her sister to the throne.
