Maurice Yaméogo was born on 31 December 1921. He was a politician from Burkina Faso, who served as the first President of the country from 1960 to 1966. Yaméogo was born in a small village in the Mossi region of what was then known as the French Upper Volta. He studied in Dakar, Senegal, and then in Paris, France.
