Nizami Ganjavi was an Iranian poet, scholar and writer who lived in the 12th century. He was born in Ganja, which is now located in Azerbaijan, and wrote in Persian. His most famous works include the Khamsa, a collection of five epic poems, and the Haft Peykar, a romance poem.
