Who invaded Western Europe but was stopped by Otto at the Battle of Lechfield?

  • The Vikings

  • The Mongols

  • The Saracens

  • The Magyars

Answer

The Magyars were a nomadic people who originated in Central Asia. They began to invade Western Europe in the late 9th century, and by the early 10th century, they had conquered much of the territory between the Rhine and the Danube rivers. In 955, however, they were defeated by Otto I, the Holy Roman Emperor, at the Battle of Lechfeld.
