Pehr Evind Svinhufvud was a Finnish politician who served as President of Finland from 1917 to 1925 and from 1931 to 1937. His political career largely ended during World War II, when he was forced to resign as President due to his opposition to Finland's alliance with Nazi Germany. Svinhufvud died in 1944 at the age of 80.
