Peter Debye was the head of the Chemistry Department at Cornell University from 1935 to 1949. He was a Dutch physicist and chemist who made significant contributions to the understanding of molecular structure and intermolecular forces. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1936.
