Pridi Banomyong was the Regent of Thailand from 1935 to 1938. He was appointed to this position by King Rama VIII, who was still a minor at the time. Pridi Banomyong was a key figure in the Thai Revolution of 1932, which overthrew the absolute monarchy and established a constitutional monarchy. He served as Prime Minister of Thailand from 1946 to 1947.
