Alexander Michael Prochoroff was the birth name of Mikhail Prokhorov, a Russian businessman and politician. He is the co-founder and former chairman of the Russian metals company Norilsk Nickel, and the founder of Onexim Group, a Russian investment group. He has also served as a member of the Russian State Duma and the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Krai.
