Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale was born on 2 June 1947 in the village of Rode, Faridkot District, Punjab, British India. He was a Sikh religious leader and politician who led the Sikh separatist movement in Punjab in the 1980s. Bhindranwale was killed in the Operation Blue Star military operation in 1984.
