Sigismund envisioned reforms to revitalize and unify both the Holy Roman Empire and the Catholic Church. He sought to strengthen imperial authority, promote justice and peace within the empire, and end the Great Schism that had fractured the Church. Sigismund believed these reforms were necessary to restore stability and harmony in Europe and to counter the growing influence of the Ottoman Turks.
