Tadeusz Mazowiecki was a delegate to the Polish parliament from the city of Gdansk. He was a member of the Solidarity movement and was elected to the Sejm in 1989. He served as Prime Minister of Poland from 1990 to 1991. Mazowiecki was a proponent of democracy and human rights. He died in 2013 at the age of 89.
