Tadeusz Mazowiecki was born in Płock, Poland in 1927. He was a Polish journalist, politician, and the first non-communist Prime Minister of Poland after the fall of communism. He served as prime minister from 1989 to 1991. He also served as a member of the European Parliament from 2004 to 2009.
