Shane MacGowan is an Irish singer-songwriter who is best known as the lead singer of The Pogues. After the Pogues disbanded in 1996, MacGowan formed a new band called Shane MacGowan and the Popes. The band released two albums, "The Popes" (1997) and "Songs of Our Fathers" (2002), before disbanding in 2002.
