Xenon and Theodotus Hemiolius were both sent against Molon, who was the tyrant of Macedon. Molon had rebelled against the king, Alexander IV of Macedon, and the two men were sent to try to quell the rebellion. However, they were unsuccessful and Molon was able to maintain his position as tyrant.
