Whom did Valentinian rule the empire alongside?

  • His brother, Valens

  • His son, Gratian

  • His wife, Justina

  • His friend, Theodosius

Answer

Valentinian was one of the two sons of the Roman Emperor Valentinian I. After Valentinian I's death in 375, the empire was divided between his two sons, with Valentinian becoming Emperor of the West and Valens becoming Emperor of the East. The two brothers ruled jointly until Valens' death in the Battle of Adrianople in 378.
