Answer
Enda Kenny was elected Taoiseach of Ireland in 2011, after the resignation of Brian Cowen. Kenny was the leader of the Fine Gael party, and had been in opposition since 2007. He led Fine Gael to victory in the 2011 general election, and formed a coalition government with the Labour Party. Kenny served as Taoiseach until 2017, when he was succeeded by Leo Varadkar.
