The Second Congo War began in 1998 and ended in 2003. It was a conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and was the deadliest conflict in modern history, with over 5.4 million people killed. The war was fought between the government of the DRC, supported by Rwanda and Uganda, and rebel groups supported by Angola, Namibia and Zimbabwe.
