Her uncle and father-in-law, Charles X, abdicated the throne that made her briefly Queen. Charles X was the brother of her mother, the Duchess of Berry. When her mother died in 1820, Charles X became King of France. In 1830, there was a revolution in France and Charles X was forced to abdicate. The throne then passed to her husband, Louis Philippe, who became King of the French.
